Why should I get EV chargers installed when none of my employees have electric cars?

EVs are the future of transport and the demand for them is rising sharply. Even if none of your employees currently own an EV, they are likely to soon. Having an EV charger onsite improves staff retention and positively portrays your company as being future-ready. If you open your EV chargers up to customer use, there is data development that shows customers spend more time and money at your business. As well as a reported increase in customers’ returning.

How quickly can I get them installed?

We aim to install your chargers as quickly as possible and will get this booked in with you at the site visit. We will be able to give you rough lead times when we give the initial quote for full transparency.

What is load-balancing?

Load balancing is vital to making sure your business is using a steady amount of electricity and isn’t at risk of overloading the electric grid by demanding too much at once. EVs use more electricity than a standard electrical object, so if several are charging at once as well as the usual day-to-day business operation then it is important to make sure that your supply is safe.

How do I monitor load-balancing?

Both ABB and FUUSE have software that monitors load-balancing. If you are a large business that needs a more complex system, FUUSE can integrate with a third-party platform that introduces dynamic load balancing, POA.

Who is excluded from the OZEV grant scheme?

Currently, the OZEV scheme is only open to businesses with their own off-street parking and if they are only planning on allowing staff to use the EV chargers. If you are a shop or restaurant and you are planning on having customers frequent your chargers then you will not be able to claim the grant.

How long is the OZEV voucher valid for?

The voucher must be used within 6 months of issue.

Are there any reasons my business might not be suited for an EV charger?

Your business won’t be able to have an EV charger if it does not have its own car park. Your business doesn’t need to own the car park but you do need your landlord’s permission to install EV chargers.

Can I connect my solar panels to my chargers?

Yes, you can! If you have solar panels that you would like to feed into your EV charger power supply then just let your salesperson know and we will be able to arrange to link them up. This will add a further discount to your price per kWh, as well as help the environment.

How long is the product warranty?

The product warranty for our ABB Terra AC chargers is a standard 36-months. All other products are covered by our 12-month warranty.
